GCEX expands into Scotland

Digital asset and currency solutions firm joins Scotland’s thriving tech community.

Fintech company locates to Glasgow

GC Exchange Limited (GCEX) is the latest international technology firm to come to Scotland. The company, which has offices in London and Switzerland, is creating 26 jobs in Glasgow to support the its global growth.

The company has identified premises in the city and has already started recruiting ahead of officially opening its new office later this year. The new roles will include positions in operations, customer support and development.

GCEX will join a thriving tech and financial community in Scotland, which is the UK's largest financial centre after London. Scotland's fintech sector is expected to create 15,000 roles over the next 10 years bolstered by fintech degree courses, including those at Strathclyde and Stirling universities.

GCEX is part of the GC Group which was set up in 2018 in response to demand for regulated and compliant exposure to the digital asset market.

Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, it provides funds, brokers, asset managers, professional traders and banks with integrated financial technology products.

The company's plans for Scotland have been supported by £350,000 Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) from Scottish Enterprise.
