Real estate and housing

Scotland is investing at scale in new homes, public services, and community infrastructure. With more than £3.3 billion directed to affordable housing and major investment in schools, healthcare, and regeneration, the real estate and housing sector offers significant opportunities for long-term, sustainable development.

  • More homes for all parts of the market

The ambition is to increase delivery of new homes by at least 10% each year over the next three years.

  • Long-term funding certainty for affordable housing

Up to £4.9 billion will be invested to support 36,000 affordable homes from 2026.

  • Focus on build-to-rent and mid-market rent

These sectors will get priority for new private capital, with legislation in place to exempt them from future rent controls.
