Love Loan (formerly George Street Complex) is located to the north east of George Square and the City Chambers, close to Queen Street Station and Buchanan Street. It's adjacent to the University of Strathclyde and within easy walking distance of Glasgow’s central business district, the Technology and Innovation Centre and the retail and leisure amenities of the Merchant City.

The site includes two exceptional listed buildings boasting many significant details. The project will see new build elements as well as the refurbishment of much of the listed fabric.

It's a mixed-use scheme comprising a four-star AC by Marriott hotel, high quality residential accommodation, office and commercial/retail/leisure uses.

Investment opportunities

Funding and investment opportunities are available for individual phases of the project, or the development in its entirety. There's a recognised gap in supply of high-quality office accommodation in Glasgow city centre and a strong market for the retail and leisure uses proposed.

The residential accommodation planned for the development will address a current lack of homes in the city centre.

The project is led by the Chris Stewart Group – the owner and developer of the site. The design team includes Hoskins Architects, Will Rudd Davidson (structural engineers), Axiom (project manager) and Thomas & Adamson (cost consultants). Property market advice is being provided by JLL, Savills and GVA.
