Scotland's talented workforce and support from SDI made Glasgow the perfect home for Televerde

Language: it's the lifeblood of business, making the crucial difference between it staying silent rather than it speaking to the right audience. And that's why it was so important for global sales and marketing solutions provider, Televerde, to choose carefully when looking where to lay down roots in Europe.

It chose Glasgow for its European headquarters and contact centre, based on its multilingual talent, its proximity to the US and continental Europe, and a partnership with Scottish Development International. The company has already launched 10 campaigns with European clients and has more in the pipeline.

Scottish Government Economy Secretary Keith Brown said: “Scotland has a well established reputation for excellence and innovation in the global business services sector, attracting companies from all over the world. I am delighted that Televerde has established its European headquarters here, supported by the Scottish Government through a Scottish Enterprise RSA grant of £670,000. This is a great endorsement for Glasgow and for Scotland.”

Proven technology experience and job creation

Over the course of the next one to two years, Televerde plan to hire 170 employees, including around 130 multilingual contact centre agents with language capabilities in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Scandinavian and Eastern European languages.

Support from Scottish Development International

Televerde worked closely with Scottish Development International throughout the process of setting up operations in Scotland; support which will continue to be provided by SDI’s account management team.
