Scotland at HOFEX 2017

Scotland is blessed with a fantastic larder of some of the world's finest food and drink produce. 

You can meet seven of Scotland's best food and drink companies at this year's HOFEX event in Hong Kong, between 8 and 11 May - at the Scotland Pavilion, stand 3B-320. Each one is ready to forge new relationships with buyers around the globe.

Eastlin Alba Limited

Eastlin Alba was born from a love of great Scottish craft beer and cider. The company will work closely with you to help you find the right drinks for your markets and can help you grow Scottish brands in your markets. 

It provides advice and support on selling Scottish products in your markets. Eastlin Alba can tailor a range of craft beers, ciders and soft drink according to your purchasing budget, expected profit margin and local market competition. The company can help you to break down the flavour and aroma components, pair beers and ciders with your local cuisines, and create beer posters for you and your distribution network.

Glencairn logo

Glencairn Crystal - John Dory

Jon Dory Ltd is the main distributor in Asia for Glencairn crystal and glassware. The company designs specialised bottlings into decanters for clients who have purchased whole casks of Scotch whisky. Jon Dory was an integral part of the Glenfarclas Pagoda Trilogy series, launched in Singapore in December 2016, where the client, The Whisky Corporation, collaborated with Glenfarclas to produce a unique product for investors. More of the special bottlings are to follow during 2017. 

John Dory also imports and retails single cask whiskies of the purest and highest quality that Scotland can offer. The founder, John Rhodes, holds workshops, such as Aroma Academy, for the appreciation of whisky and whisky aromas. He is also the co-founder of The Hong Kong Whisky Festival which had its inaugural show in February 2016, with a second even more successful one held in 2017.

The company also has a retail outlet in Hong Kong, offering whisky and accessories for whisky, including gifts and customisable products for the corporate gift market.

Islay Boys logo

The Islay Boys Limited

The Islay Boys, Mackay Smith and Donald MacKenzie, are from the Rhinns peninsula of Scotland’s most famous whisky isle - the isle of Islay. The company offers a range of high quality Scotch whisky. 

The Islay Boys' Flatnöse Blend and Blended Malt Scotch Whiskies are rich, full-flavoured, bottled at a higher strength of 43% and 46% abv, and are un-chillfiltered. 

The Islay Boys export to Europe and North America and are now looking for distributors in Asia who can support the company into the off-licence, premium retail and on-trade.

The salmon from Loch Duart Ltd is as close in texture and taste to wild salmon as you can get by farming. R&B Distillers Ltd

Founded by two Scots, Bill Dobbie and Alasdair Day, R&B Distillers is an Edinburgh-based independent whisky company. The company is due to open its first distillery on the remote Hebridean island of Raasay in Summer 2017, with a view to launching its inaugural Raasay single malt in 2020. 

While R&B Distillers wait for its spirit to mature into Scotch whisky, the company has released a limited collection of independently bottled expressions, including a lightly peated single malt finished in Tuscan wine casks, an herbaceous single grain finished in Oloroso sherry casks, and an aged blend that Alasdair inherited from his great grandfather. These are representative of the even better things to come from R&B Distillers and Raasay Distillery – innovative Scottish craft whisky for the modern discerning drinker.
