Some of Scotland's most exciting media companies will join Scottish Development International at IBC2015.

The International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), is an annual event for those working in media and news creation and delivery. This year the event will take place from the 10th to the 15th September at the Amsterdam RAI.

The convention attracts over 50,000 attendees from 170 countries. As well as a highly respected conference, the convention includes an exhibition of more than 1,500 suppliers of cutting edge media technology.

Scottish Development International will be running a Scottish Pavilion in a prime location at the convention, showcasing some of Scotland’s most innovative media and supply companies.

iMetafilm

iMetafilm use their unique patented technology to digitise film footage. The technology takes a number of photos of each frame to convert them into digital output, which can then be tagged and stored, making archive footage easily manageable and accessible.

Their MetaScanner hardware is suitable for 8mm to 35mm film and their MetaWeaver software enables content to be instantly accessed according to a user’s requirements.

Mekall

Mekall have been manufacturing membrane panels and graphic overlays for over 25 years. Their clients are primarily in the premium consumer goods, aerospace, defence, agriculture, medical and instrumentation markets.

The main products that Merkell supply are membrane switches, keyboards, screen printed labels, fascia panels and LED backlit devices.

They also offer a full design, test and manufacturing service from their base in Glasgow.

Blind Spot Gear

Blind Spot Gear manufacture a portable and affordable lighting solution for film makers. Coming from a background in film making the company have developed the Scorpion Light to address many of the common issues faced by film makers.

The light is portable and designed for versatility, meaning it can be attached to almost anything. It is powered by batteries or mains and includes a bulb with a lifespan of five years of continuous operation.

MG Alba

MG ALBA (The Gaelic Media Service) work with the BBC to provide BBC Alba, Scotland’s Gaelic television service. The channel first broadcast in 2008 and is now available across multiple platforms, including Freeviw, Sky, and cable

Along with partner organisations MG Alba also organises the Gaelic Short Film Festival and provides the LearnGaelic online learning tool.
