Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) - Glasgow City region

Scotland’s home of manufacturing innovation.

AMIDS is the perfect location for advanced and high-value manufacturers.

The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) is the perfect location for advanced and high-value manufacturers. Located in Renfrewshire, adjacent to Glasgow Airport, AMIDS is home to two new world-class innovation centres – the new headquarters facility for the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland and the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre, CPI.

This is also helping AMIDS play its part in reaching net zero. The new NMIS headquarters are on track to be fully carbon neutral, including a heating network that uses 90% less carbon than traditional gas boilers.

AMIDS is also home to renowned international manufacturers including Boeing, Rolls Royce, Doosan Babcock, Peak Scientific and Terumo Aortic.

We’re working on the project, along with Renfrewshire Council, the Scottish Government, the University of Strathclyde, West College Scotland, the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) and the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre, CPI.

We’re here to help grow the local, national and global manufacturing supply chain and support ambitious advanced manufacturing companies.

AMIDS is helping to establish Scotland as a home for manufacturing innovation. Its ongoing success is providing a major boost to Scotland’s manufacturing sector, driving the country’s economic recovery and future prosperity.

This is built upon increasingly strong links with the wider UK manufacturing sector, with two of the UK’s seven High Value Manufacturing Catapult Centres opening new facilities at AMIDS.

Boasting unrivalled connectivity, access to a highly skilled workforce across the Greater Glasgow region, and with every aspect of the site committed to a net zero future, AMIDS is the perfect choice of location.
