How we can help

A key element of Scotland’s welcoming business environment is the work done by us in helping investors tap into the country’s world-class capabilities in innovation and commerce.

Uniquely, we provide account managers who open doors to a huge range of opportunities in funding, new technology, R&D and training. Potential investors receive free business and strategic advice and are supported in making crucial business contacts across Scotland.

Experienced business professionals are available through the Scottish Stem Cell Network to maximize the collaborative opportunities for your business. Our life sciences team and Scottish Enterprise staff aim to support and compliment the activities of the Scottish Stem Cell Network.

Accessing funding

A range of organizations can provide grant funding specifically for stem cell research and commercialisation in Scotland, including the Stem Cell Research Fund, UK joint research councils, and the Scottish Funding Council.

Stem Cell Research Fund

UK Stem Cell Foundation has launched a £5 million stem cell research fund. The fund is backed by a £300,000 grant from Scottish Enterprise to underpin Scottish research into treatments for illnesses such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, liver disease, strokes and Alzheimers.

Proof of Concept Programme

Early stage discovery and development in the life sciences industry in Scotland is supported by a number of government programmes, such as the innovative Proof of Concept Programme.

Venture capital and investment funds

Through government support we help companies continue to grow until they’re able to access venture capital and other larger investment funds
