Scotland's solar energy industry funding

Solar photo-voltaic energy is one of the most expensive forms of renewable energy but Scotland’s commitment to renewable energy provides a number of funds that can help your company’s investment in Scotland.

Incentives offered by the Scottish Government include:

  • The Scottish Community Householder Renewables Initiative (SCHRI) - grants for householders of 30 percent, up to £4,000, off the cost of renewable energy heating systems
  • Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) – UK Government scheme launching in 2011 to provide financial support to owners, tenants, businesses and schools to help Scotland meet its renewable energy targets

Your company could also benefit from a range of other funding sources available in Scotland. We’re delighted to offer help and support in accessing these funds:

  • Research and development grants and tax credits available in Scotland
  • Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) rants are available to safeguard and create jobs in Scotland
  • The Scottish Investment Bank offers a portfolio of loans and equity funds including the Scottish Seed Fund and the Scottish Venture Fund
