The Stirling Centre for International Publishing and Communication was set up in 1982 and has since developed a global reputation for its postgraduate degrees in publishing, its research activities, and its industry links.

Working across the Information Resources Directorate and the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, this department’s key aims are to ‘combine theory with practice in innovative ways’ and be a centre of research excellence in the area of distributed digital information and learning environments.
