Global HR firm, Ceridian, officially opened its new UK Headquarters in Scotland today thanks to a £1.83 million funding package and support from Scottish Development International.
The opening of the state-of the-art HQ in Renfrew will create at least 300 new jobs and represents a substantial £16 million investment into Scotland.
SDI lent their support in Ceridian’s decision to locate a major facility in Renfrew, including helping to secure the funding package from SDI’s partner, Scottish Enterprise. The support package included a £1.7 million RSA grant and a Training Plus grant of £134,000.
"The decision to expand the Scottish operation, which is now its largest centre of excellence in the UK, is testament to the quality and skills of the local workforce and the reputation and strength of staff," said Enterprise Minister, Fergus Ewing.
The company’s new state-of-the-art offices at Braehead near Glasgow will house up to 600 highly-skilled staff, who work in a variety of areas including HR administration, payroll processing, employee assistance programme support, finance and expense management.
Ceridian’s clients include Asda, RBS and Whitbread.
Chief Executive of SDI, Anne MacColl, said:
"Ceridian’s ongoing commitment to Scotland shows that the country continues to be an attractive location for international investors, thanks to the skills of our people, a competitive cost base and a well-developed business infrastructure, and we look forward to working with the company as it continues to grow and prosper in Scotland."
