This programme, run over two days, is free to Scottish companies and is fully funded through Smart Exporter.

Smart Exporter trade skills programme is delivered by Scottish Development International (SDI) supported by the European Social Fund.
The Introductory Preparing to Export Programme is targeted at Scottish companies that are new to exporting. Companies are expected to attend both days to complete the programme.
This two day course covers a range of topics that will help your company get ready to export
14th February 2012:
Market analysis - market research, market identification, competition, routes to market (distribution channels/overseas representation), budgeting and planning
Market entry - international marketing and promotion, internet/social media and exhibitions
21st February 2012:
International finance, contracts and logistics - finance and pricing, legal issues, protecting intellectual property, trading and contractual terms and logistics
