Regional Selective Assistance

Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) is the main investment grant scheme for businesses within areas of Scotland designated for regional aid under European Community law.

Qualifying companies can apply for funding to create or safeguard jobs, whether they are Scottish-owned or are an inward investor.

Why apply for a Regional Selective Assistance grant?

Although dependent on the scale of the project, the majority of RSA grants represent 10–20 per cent of the capital expenditure of a project, and all awards are negotiated individually. Projects involving relatively low levels of capital investment can receive grants calculated against the first two years' salary costs of new project jobs.

RSA is not limited to a single one-off grant and can be awarded for subsequent expansion projects in Scotland.
